Every year, the governor of Vermont celebrates extraordinary volunteerism by recognizing individuals, families, groups, and companies who go above and beyond in their volunteering efforts. Pizzagalli was one of two companies in the state to be recognized with a 2010 Governor’s Award for Outstanding Community Service. I was pleased to accept this community service award from Governor Jim Douglas at a ceremony held in Montpelier on April 10.
It was especially gratifying to learn that Pizzagalli was nominated for this award by the Lund Family Center because of our over twenty-year history of supporting their organization. Pizzagalli employees volunteer their time and the company financially supports the Center’s programs and provides much-needed resources for the center.
We are grateful to the Lund Family Center for recognizing the efforts of our volunteering employees and for the company’s participation in furthering the center’s mission. We have appreciated and enjoyed being part of their important work.

The Governor’s Awards for Outstanding Community Service honor individuals, groups, and businesses that best exemplify the spirit of volunteerism and community service in Vermont. This specific award recognizes businesses that make a substantial impact through innovation, employee volunteer programs, volunteer hours, number of volunteers, and monetary support.
