Pizzagalli’s tenant improvements project for L.L. Bean at Legacy Place Mall in Dedham, Massachusetts has officially achieved the LEED Gold rating by the U.S. Green Building Council. This is Pizzagalli’s second of 12 LEED projects to receive such an outstanding ranking from the Council.
The $1.8 million, two-story interior fit-up within a new building encompasses 27,000 square feet and was completed on a fast-track, 13-week construction schedule. This new space incorporates reclaimed Douglas Fir and Gray Barn Board and Cedar to give the store the “rustic” L.L. Bean look. Additional LEED features include:
- Low-flow faucets
- Two-staged flush toilets
- Waterless urinals
- Daylight harvesting
- Lumber provided by the Forest Stewardship Council
- Bike racks, changing rooms, and showers to promote alternate work transportation
- Optimized energy controls
- Construction waste management program – more than 75% of construction waste was diverted from landfills
